• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (may increase as needed)

• Holidays: Rotates with permanent staff

Unit Details

• Beds: 7 ER beds + 1 trauma room

• Volume: ~4,000 patients/year

• Staffing:

  • 1 RN staffed in ER at night (charge RN from Med Surg assists if needed)

  • No charge nurse

  • No ER tech on nights (day shift only)

• Floating: Yes, within facility if needed

• Precepting: 1 shift with preceptor

Requirements

• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS

• Preferred: ENPC, TNCC

• License: Active license required at submission

• BSN: Not required

Clinical Expectations

• Must independently read and interpret EKGs

• Strong IV skills required (no IV team)

• Nurses perform RT treatments (no respiratory therapy)

• Lab draws required if lab unavailable

• May need to mix medications after hours (tele-pharmacy support available)
