    Job Summary
    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our healthcare team. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process. You will work closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective childbirth experiences.

    Duties

    • Monitor the health status of mothers and newborns before, during, and after delivery.
    • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families throughout the labor process.
    • Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
    • Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess maternal and fetal well-being.
    • Assist in the delivery of infants, including performing sutures when necessary.
    • Maintain accurate medical documentation for all patient interactions and procedures.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the ICU setting when complications arise.
    • Participate in trauma medicine protocols as needed during emergency situations.
    • Provide care for patients in senior care or memory care settings when applicable.

    Skills

    • Years of Experience: 1.5 year(s)
    • Certs: BLS, NRP
    • Proficient in emergency medicine practices and protocols.
    • Strong diagnostic evaluation skills to assess patient conditions effectively.
    • Experience with suturing techniques for postpartum care.
    • Familiarity with ICU procedures and patient management.
    • Knowledge of senior care practices, particularly related to maternal health.
    • Competence in medical documentation standards using systems like eClinicalWorks.
    • Ability to provide inpatient care with a focus on safety and comfort for both mother and child.
    • Understanding of trauma medicine principles as they apply to labor and delivery scenarios.
