About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Re-Roofing Superintendent to join a growing, nationally recognized commercial roofing contractor. This position is ideal for a hands-on field leader with extensive experience managing large-scale commercial reroofing projects, particularly big-box retail facilities, warehouses, and other large commercial properties.
Projects will include major retail facilities such as Walmart, large distribution centers, industrial buildings, and other occupied commercial properties throughout the country.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands the complexities of commercial reroofing, can effectively manage multiple crews, and has the ability to execute projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule while minimizing disruptions to ongoing business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all on-site operations for large-scale commercial reroofing projects from initial mobilization through final completion.
Manage reroofing projects involving big-box retail stores, warehouses, distribution centers, and other large commercial facilities.
Lead, supervise, and coordinate roofing crews, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure productivity, safety, and quality workmanship.
Oversee daily field activities, including manpower allocation, equipment coordination, material deliveries, and project scheduling.
Manage roof tear-offs, replacements, recover systems, and other commercial reroofing applications.
Coordinate with Project Managers, property managers, facility representatives, and internal leadership to ensure smooth project execution.
Develop and maintain project schedules while proactively addressing delays, weather conditions, and unforeseen jobsite challenges.
Ensure proper site logistics, staging areas, material handling, debris removal, and equipment placement.
Maintain strict safety standards, including OSHA compliance, fall protection, and safe work practices.
Ensure roofing installations meet manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and company quality standards.
Conduct regular site inspections, monitor production progress, and maintain accurate daily reports.
Coordinate roofing operations at occupied facilities while minimizing disruptions to customers, employees, and daily business activities.
Oversee final inspections, punch lists, and project closeout procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of commercial roofing experience, with a strong background in reroofing operations.
Proven experience supervising commercial roofing crews and overseeing large-scale reroofing projects is required.
Experience with big-box retail facilities such as Walmart, Target, Home Depot, or similar large commercial properties is highly preferred.
Strong hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, and other low-slope roofing applications.
Extensive understanding of commercial roof tear-offs, recover systems, roof replacements, and associated installation methods.
Demonstrated ability to manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain project schedules.
Experience overseeing reroofing projects at occupied or operational facilities is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of jobsite logistics, equipment coordination, material staging, and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret roofing specifications, construction drawings, and project documentation.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, fall protection requirements, and commercial roofing safety standards.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project locations nationwide.
Important: This position requires direct experience in commercial roofing and large-scale reroofing operations. Candidates with general construction Superintendent experience or exclusively new construction experience without commercial reroofing knowledge will not meet the requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $80,000–$85,000 annually, with flexibility above this range for exceptional candidates.
Annual Per Diem: $18,000.
Annual Bonus Potential: Up to $20,000, based on company-established performance criteria.
Total Annual Compensation Potential: $118,000–$123,000+, including base salary, per diem, and maximum bonus opportunity.
