About the Opportunity

A nationally recognized commercial roofing contractor is seeking a Traveling Project Manager to oversee projects throughout the Midwest and Northeast regions. This role is ideal for a motivated construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys travel, and has experience managing commercial roofing projects from kickoff through completion.

This position will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating field operations, subcontractors, schedules, materials, and customer communication to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Project responsibilities will scale based on experience and demonstrated capabilities, offering strong long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial roofing projects from estimating handoff through final closeout
• Coordinate subcontractors, field crews, materials, and project schedules across multiple job sites
• Prepare and manage project schedules, phasing plans, purchase orders, and procurement activities
• Track project costs, budgets, WIP reporting, and overall financial performance
• Review plans, specifications, and perform takeoffs for reroof and new construction projects
• Maintain communication with customers, vendors, field teams, and leadership regarding project progress and scheduling
• Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and successful project execution across all assigned projects
• Attend pre-construction meetings, job walks, and customer meetings as needed
• Complete project closeout documentation and support long-term client relationships

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of commercial roofing project management experience
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems and construction processes
• Experience supporting or managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle
• Knowledge of scheduling, procurement, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and field operations
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software
• Ability to travel overnight approximately 75% of the time throughout the Midwest and Northeast
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
• Ability to climb ladders and access rooftops for site visits and inspections
