    SUMMARY: Assist in the care provided to the patient during the treatment process.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduated of a recognized medical assistant program

    Computer training also desired but not required

    Speak Spanish also desired.

    HOURS: MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO LOCATION This position requires that you are able to travel to at least 4 different locations in Chicago (2 locations), Des Plaines, and Addison, IL Hours will be discussed at the time of interview.

    PAY: $ 23.00 - $ 26.00 an hour

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    CLINICAL:

    Apply EKG leads to patient.

    Patient transfer: cart to Phase II recovery

    Phase II to wheelchair

    Wheelchair to vehicle on discharge

    Assist patient in bathroom if necessary

    Assist patient in changing clothes if necessary

    Assemble patient charts

    Discontinue I.V. on instructions from nurse.

    Provide nourishment to patient in Phase II recovery.

    Provides language interpretation when needed

    EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:

    Maintain required stock supply in the recovery room

    Manage clean/soiled linens

    Clean patient carts/ beds / Phase II recovery bays between cases

    Clean areas when requested by nursing.

    IMPROVING ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE:

    Communicates problems, incidents and / or complaints to center team leader or RN

    Practices infection control and patient safety procedures

    Reviews patient information for completion when assembling medical records

    Attends and participates in staff meetings and in - services activities

    Participates in improving organizational performance activities

    LEADERSHIP:

    Setas an example for peers in professional conduct by adhering to all HR policies and procedures.

    Uses interpersonal and problem-solving skills in daily job performance

    Demonstrates initiative in communication information proactively.

    Suggest solutions in problems.

    OTHER DUTIES:

    Willingly accepts and performs all other duties as assigned.
