    Technical Support (Generalist)
    NOTE: Must be able to make site visits
    The Technical Support (Generalist) is responsible for providing technical support and setup for staff, programs, and a network of training centers throughout New York City.


    Duties include:
    • Maintain and support network of computer labs throughout NYC. This includes visiting partner locations to install new equipment (computer labs of 15 units or less), perform upgrades, and check for unreported issues. *Travel throughout all five NYC boroughs required.
    • Support mobile devices such as iPads and Chromebooks in addition to desktop PCs.
    • Support conferencing and A/V systems at OATS offices.
    • Assist with pulling data exports and data entry from/to systems including Salesforce CRM and Smartsheet.
    • Track assets and work orders in Salesforce.
    • Assist with general staff tech inquires as-needed. This includes providing remote support for staff located in other cities.

    Required Qualifications:

    This position requires excellent customer service, professionalism, problem solving ability, and critical-thinking skills in a fast-paced work environment. A professional demeanor and a high level of patience are two essential qualifications.
    • Previous experience as a help desk technician or equivalent
    • Familiarity with Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android operating systems
    • Technical proficiency installing, configuring and troubleshooting Computers, mobile devices, and software applications
    • Ability to independently research and resolve technical issues


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior experience with Salesforce
    • Experience with Mobile Iron or other MDM software
    • Experience with computer lab installs

    • Participate in a 6-month contract assignment with potential extension
    • Maintain a flexible 30-hour weekly schedule, working either five 6-hour days or four approximately 8-hour days (equaling 30 hours), with weekly schedules coordinated in advance between the manager and contractor.
    • Travel between assigned work locations as needed, with all travel time considered working hours.
    • Travel will be through out ALL 5 boroughs. Could visit a max of 3 sites a day, 7 sites a week, but on average 3 site visits per week. • Manager would prefer ticket creation and other admin duties completed at the Manhattan office, but could also be done remotely.
