Our client is seeking an experienced Traveling Commercial Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations for a variety of commercial projects including retail, restaurant, medical, and industrial facilities. This role requires strong field leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to schedule
Lead and coordinate subcontractors, field personnel, and vendors to maintain consistent progress and quality
Review plans, specifications, and submittals to confirm scope and project alignment
Conduct and document inspections, RFIs, and progress reports with attention to detail
Develop, update, and manage construction schedules with key milestones and deliverables
Track project performance, monitor costs, and assist with change management as needed
Enforce safety standards and maintain compliance through regular site inspections and documentation
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to resolve field-related issues efficiently
Foster strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and field teams to ensure clear communication and accountability
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
3+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience
Proven success managing projects such as ground-up retail, restaurant, medical, office, or light industrial builds
Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore,or similar project management software
Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills
Ability to lead diverse teams and uphold high standards of quality and safety
Must be willing to travel extensively (up to 80%) with multi-week assignments as needed
