About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated Treatment Director with a background in juvenile detention, residential treatment or in a mental or behavioral health hospital setting. The Treatment Director is responsible for the overall clinical integrity, quality, and regulatory compliance of the agency’s treatment services in accordance with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Minimum Standards. This role provides leadership, oversight, and direction for all therapeutic programming, ensuring that services are trauma-informed, evidence-based, and aligned with the organization’s Treatment Model (TBRI). The Treatment Director serves as a key member of the treatment team and provides direct support to staff, contracted professionals, and youth in care.
Base Salary: $65,000+, depending on experience; Must provide your salary expectations
What You’ll Do
Ensure the day-to-day quality, integrity, and compliance of all clinical program components in accordance with DFPS regulations and agency policy.
Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Treatment Model (TBRI), including ongoing training, coaching, and fidelity monitoring.
Provide direct supervision to contracted clinical professionals, including therapists, physicians, and registered nurses.
Conduct thorough admission assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate services for each child.
Develop, review, and update individualized service plans tailored to each child's unique needs.
Participate as a core member of the treatment team, contributing to service planning, clinical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Review medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with physician orders.
What We’re Looking For
The Treatment Director must be:
A psychiatrist or psychologist; or
Have a master’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and three years of experience providing treatment services for children with an emotional disorder, including one year in a residential childcare setting; or
A licensed master social worker, a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed professional counselor; or
A licensed marriage and family therapist, and have three years of experience providing treatment services for children with an emotional disorder, including one year in a residential childcare setting
Minimum of three years of experience, with 1 year providing treatment services to children in a residential setting (per DFPS standards).
Demonstrated experience in trauma-informed care; TBRI knowledge preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and crisis-intervention skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and maintain professional relationships with youth and staff.
Must pass FBI fingerprinting & drug test
Must be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet program and staffing needs
