Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 base + benefits
About the Role
A rapidly growing, PE-backed landscape organization is seeking a Tree Care Operations Manager to lead and expand its Arbor Division. This role oversees daily operations, manages multiple crews, improves scheduling systems, and ensures safe, high-quality execution across all tree care services.
You’ll manage 4 crews and 14 field employees while helping modernize systems, strengthen communication across divisions, and improve operational efficiency. This is a high-impact leadership role with significant growth opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations for 4 tree care crews and a $1.2M division
- Manage, coach, and develop the Field Supervisor and field teams
- Plan, schedule, and execute workflows in coordination with the Business Developer
- Transition scheduling from manual/whiteboard methods to digital systems
- Oversee safety programs, audits, training, and compliance with industry standards
- Ensure proper use of bucket trucks, rigging equipment, chainsaws, and all arbor gear
- Conduct tree assessments, hazard evaluations, and technical recommendations
- Support estimating and job planning for new and existing work
- Train crews on pruning, removals, rigging, safety, and production efficiency
- Improve communication across Arbor, Maintenance, and Business Development teams
Qualifications:
Required
- ISA Certified Arborist
- 5–10+ years in tree care operations, arbor management, or multi-crew leadership
- Strong technical knowledge of pruning, removals, rigging, hazard assessment, and tree biology
- Experience managing or helping scale a tree care service line
- Demonstrated safety leadership
- Ability to implement new scheduling, workflow, and operational systems
- Strong communication skills across operations teams
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred
- Experience in a PE-backed or fast-growth organization
- Experience working with Business Developers or sales teams
- Understanding of scheduling efficiency, margins, and workload planning
- Exposure to commercial landscape or service-based operations
