Job description:
Elite Climber and/or Aerial Lift Operator
Full-Time | $40–$60/hr Based on Experience & Credentials | 40–45 hrs/week
Are you an elite climber and an aerial lift operator who knows your value—and is ready to build something better?
At Momentum Tree Experts, we don’t hire seat fillers. We hire professionals who elevate every job they touch and want their name to mean something in this industry.
If you take pride in precision, safety, and teamwork—if you’re tired of poorly run jobs, unmotivated crews, or companies that don’t invest in excellence—this may be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
We’re a values-driven, TCIA Accredited company based in Novi, MI, serving high-end residential clients who care about doing things right. While we perform removals, they’re far from our identity. We prioritize proper pruning, preservation, and technical excellence rooted in tree biology and long-term care.
What Makes Momentum Different
Owner-led and field-driven: You’ll work under someone who still climbs and leads from the front
No egos, no shortcuts: Everyone contributes, and everyone’s voice matters
Paid industry trainings and certifications—you choose, we invest
High-performance gear, sharp systems, and strong team culture
Clients who respect the trade and are happy to pay for quality
We follow—and often exceed—ANSI and Z133 safety standards
The Role:
You’ll join a crew where technical ability, sound judgment, and deep respect for the craft are the standard. You'll participate in spur/spurless climbing and operating our CMC 100 HD with precision, support complex removals, execute high-end pruning, and contribute to clean, safe, high-quality work from start to finish.
Responsibilities include:
Operate tracked and truck-mounted lifts around structures, wires, and landscapes
Perform spurless and spur climbing and aerial work (MRS/SRS)
Execute technical removals, rigging, and pruning to ANSI A300 standards
Load gear, drive trucks and trailers, operate chippers and loaders
Join daily job briefings, follow all safety protocols, and contribute as a team player
Support ground-level operations—gear, cleanup, and equipment loading included
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years as a professional climber and aerial lift operator
Proficiency in rigging, pruning, removals, and ANSI standards
Spurless climbing mastery (if climbing); confident aerial lift control in tight spaces
Familiarity with dynamic and static cabling systems
CDL (Class A) strongly preferred—or clear path toward obtaining one
Valid Chauffeur’s License (required)
Strong situational awareness, physical stamina, and a team-first mindset
ISA Certified Arborist and/or TRAQ preferred, but not required
What You’ll Get:
Pay & Security:
$40–$60/hr depending on credentials, leadership, CDL, and proven skill
Weekly pay
Double time for storm/emergency callouts
40 guaranteed hours/week, year-round (slower winters, but consistent)
Gear & Benefits:
$300 gear allowance four times a year (your pick—if it works, meets safety standards, we’ll contribute up to $300 )
Boot credit provided annually
Uniform credit provided twice a year
Black Protos helmet with face shield supplied and integrated communication system
Paid sick time and PTO after 90 days
Paid holidays
Team meals provided regularly
Growth & Training:
You choose your training; we cover 90% of the cost (up to $3,000/year)
Opportunities to grow into crew leader, consultation, or specialty roles
In-field training, mentorship opportunities, and leadership potential as we scale
Tools & Tech:
All systems accessible via mobile CRM
Well-maintained equipment and gear
