    Our client is a leading fuel distribution company with a great culture and dedicated team. They are seeking a Marine Sales Representative with expert relationship-building skills to play a crucial role in optimizing sales and business development efforts within the marine division of the company. The ideal candidate will have relationships with vessels, service providers, and other maritime prospective clients in and around the ports, either within the oil & gas world, or in similar industries.

    This is a primarily in-field role, with some time in the office in Long Beach and the rest of the time meeting customers in person around Southern California.

    Responsibilities:
    - Engage in sales activities to drive revenue growth with existing customers and expand the marine customer base
    - Utilize sales analytics, metrics, and reporting tools to monitor and enhance performance
    - Serve as main point of contact for indirect customers should any issues with shipments arise
    - Pay regular visits to customers around Southern California; attending industry events, going to trade shows, taking clients out for meals, etc. in order to become their main distributor
    - Review sales-related project proposals and bid documents, negotiating terms and conditions
    - Assist in implementing enhanced selling techniques, including planning, territory management, and offer definition
    - Attend client meetings, presentations, and sales calls with prospective customers
    - Communicate progress and challenges to the VP of Sales, including the discussion of KPIs, insights, review of call logs, etc.

    Qualifications:
    - 2-5 years of experience of sales in the marine industry; fuel and lubricant industry exposure is a plus
    - Ability to travel around Southern California – this role requires face-to-face visits with customers around the region on a regular basis
    - Best-in-class relationship-building skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and adjust plans at the drop of a hat
    - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    - Organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines
    - Natural people person who thrives in an in-person environment
    - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    - Desire to grow and develop within an exciting, fast-paced business environment
