VP/SVP of Asset Management for an Entertainment Real Estate Firm
Our client is a multi-billion dollar real estate company based in Southern California that owns and manages a variety of high-profile real estate investments and owns an entertainment company that provides resources like studio design and development, studio management, design and development, equipment and prop services, and more to major production companies and small-to-midsize operations all around the world. They are seeking an SVP of Asset Management to maximize the value and performance of their real estate portfolio, overseeing a team handling day-to-day operations, financial analysis, strategic planning, and overall performance of the properties. This candidate should have experience in the entertainment real estate world (studio entertainment RE ideal), best-in-class leadership skills and a demonstrated track record of optimizing the value of assets under their oversight.
This is an in-person role based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Create overarching asset management strategies for all studio properties within the company’s portfolio
- Provide hands-on leadership to a strong team of Asset Managers and Associates
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, financial analysis, strategic planning, and overall performance of a portfolio of studio entertainment real estate properties
- Identify and implement value-enhancing strategies for properties to increase asset value and competitiveness
- Oversee negotiation for lease agreements, renewals, and new tenant onboarding
- Work with brokerage teams to optimize tenant retention, addressing any concerns and maintaining positive relationships
- Oversee the review and analysis of monthly financial and operating cost reports to gauge property and portfolio performance, making adjustments as needed based on results
- Work with executive leadership and communicate with fund investors to develop, review, and execute value-add investment strategy
- Lead the planning and execution of development projects, working cross-functionally to develop plans for weekly, monthly, and annual budgets
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative working environment for all team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or similar field, required; advanced degree a plus
- 10+ years of commercial real estate asset management experience; experience with entertainment RE required; experience with studio RE ideal
- Proven track record of overseeing real estate asset management, including cost management, project oversight, revenue optimization, and budget management
- Strong financial acumen and experience with financial modeling and analysis
- Solid understanding of real estate regulations, zoning laws, and compliance standards
- Advanced fluency with Excel
- Strategic, problem-solving mindset
