Employees and oil spill response personnel are an integral asset to ensuring our success and as such our staff is required to meet the highest expectations. We count on our personnel to perform in fast paced environments while still satisfying customer needs and maintaining effective working relationships. The ability to proactively identify issues and offer innovative solutions is also highly praised. Additionally, we expect our workers be able to effectively function under pressure in order to achieve required deadlines. Our staff should be capable of working independently, however Global is fundamentally concerned with team work and the invaluable part it plays in this industry. Responders shall be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible personnel to participate in our oil spill response labor pool and be part of the Global team. This is a great opportunity for people working part of the year that are interested in filling their time off with an _occasional_call out to a spill response or other marine response projects. In addition, we offer opportunities to receive paid training onboard spill response vessels. Oil Spill Responders will report to the company’s Spill Response Project Manager.
We will not ask you to miss work at your regular employer. This is not a full–time, part‐time, or guaranteed position; it is on an as needed basis. Global will maintain a list of eligible responders who will be called in the event of an emergency.
Duties and Responsibilities may include based on assigned project:
Oil Spill response;
Small vessel operations;
Skimmer operations;
Boom and anchor deployment/retrieval;
Skilled equipment operations including, but not limited to, pump operations and hand tools;
Deploying, retrieval, and processing of sorbent materials;
Availability to leave at a moment’s notice and work 7 days or more in the case of an oil spill;
Other duties as assigned.
Available for after hour emergency response;
