TRI POINTE HOMES IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED, ENTHUSIASTIC INDIVIDUAL TO JOIN OUR TALENTED GROUP AS A COST ACCOUNTANT.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: We are seeking a driven, experienced Accountant to join our accounting and finance team.  This position will advise and work closely with other departments. You will own the accounting and budgeting for all indirect cost activity across multiple communities and homes in various stages of development.  The Accountant will review monthly indirect spending transactions for accuracy, analyze and recommend budget needs, lead monthly budget review meetings with construction and land development managers, and perform cost allocations using multiple cost allocation methodologies.  The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong analytical, communication and relationship building skills.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accounting for Sales Commissions, Draws, Salaries, etc.
• Assist with Month End Close. (Adjusting Journal Entries, Closing Worksheets, etc,)
• Assist with operational reports such as backlog margin report, cash flow, etc.
• Financial Statement Review, Analysis and Preparation
• Job Cost Review and Analysis
• Prepare Audit Schedules for the Quarter End and Year End
• Land Development Accounting and Review
• Maintain Indirect Job Cost Budgets for items such as Lot Costs, Interest, Taxes, Indirect Construction Cost Allocation, HOA fees, closing costs, etc.
• Be proficient in all aspects of the monthly financial reporting process which includes:
  • Upload and transmission of our general ledger data to Corporate via Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Financial Data Management (FDM).
  • Cash Flow Reporting and Variance Analysis.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting for a public company required.
• Ability to think critically and creatively; and analyze complex data.
• Advanced Excel skills. (V Lookup and Pivot tables)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Determined approach to completing highly detailed work in an efficient and organized manner.
