    MANDATORY COVID-19 GUIDELINE:

    As of March 15th, 2022, all onsite JSH employees must have received the necessary doses to complete the COVID-19 vaccine series (i.e., one dose of a single-dose vaccine or all doses of a multiple vaccine series) or have been granted a qualifying exemption, or are identified as having a temporary delay as recommended by the CDC. New hires also will be required to comply with this requirement before working onsite at any JSH facility.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Performs safety and performance inspections, repairs, calibrates, and inservice clinical, and non-clinical equipment, invasive, and non invasive equipment. Maintains the biomedical equipment management program and the safe medical devices act program. Works with all departments to provide assistance in cases of operational or technical problems. Coordinates work with the Biomedical Engineering Department and the respective requesting department and the administrative issues with the Biomedical Engineering Director.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Assists the director in the administration and support service; planning and estimating projects, preventive maintenance, engineering procedures, security procedures, cost prevention.

    Ensures that equipment brought into the hospital meets criteria for hospital use and the testing is appropriate with records/ documentation created in the equipment management program.

    Recommends equipment and receives contracts.

    Maintains the equipment calibration program.

    Reviews equipment inventories for loss and additions, and advises hospital personnel of malfunctioning or missing equipment.

    Coordinates the work order system and prioritizes the biomedical work.

    Maintains an attitude for life safely, energy conservation, and cost savings.

    Supports the MSDS, Hazardous Communication, Safety Management and Infection Control policies and procedures.

    Attends required meetings, in-services, lectures, and seminars.

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Two year with a biomedical company, military biomedical experience.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, Biomedical Program or Military Biomedical Training. Associate degree preferred.

    REQUIRED LICENSES: Biomedical Engineering Technologist Two years with a biomedical company, military biomedical experience.
