    TRI POINTE HOMES IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED, ENTHUSIASTIC INDIVIDUAL TO JOIN OUR TALENTED GROUP AS A STAFF ACCOUNTANT.

      

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and projects, gaining exposure to the month-end close cycle, audits, budgeting, and financial analysis. 

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepares daily cash entries from multiple entities, including reconciling up to twenty-five bank accounts.
    • Maintain company’s outstanding check registers, including researching outstanding checks for reissues and voids.
    • Reconciles and codes all cash deposits, including checks, ACH, and wires.
    • Maintain company fixed asset schedules, including entering and maintaining depreciation calculations within a fixed asset module within the accounting system.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset roll forward schedules for management and external auditors.
    • Prepare and file personal property tax returns with appropriate counties across divisions.
    • Prepare revenue entries based upon HUD closing statements.
    • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
    • Supports team in quarterly and year-end audits, including organizing and pulling audit requests for both internal and external auditors
    • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
    • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
    • Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    • Other duties as assigned

     

     POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
    • A minimum of 2 years of successful experience in a Staff Accountant position or other related fields.
    • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking ability.
    • Proficient Excel skills
    • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX.
    • Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus.
    • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Proven team player with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
