    Job Description

    TITLE: SR. INVENTORY PLANNER A MANUFACTURING COMPANY KNOWN FOR ITS SMART TECHNOLOGIES IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A SR. INVENTORY PLANNER TO WORK AT THEIR TORRANCE OFFICE AND ASSIST THEM WITH DEMAND PLANNING AND PROVIDING ACCURATE FORECASTS.

    • $75K – $85K / year
    • Bilingual skills in English and Mandarin Chinese is a huge plus

    REQUIREMENTS OF THE SR. INVENTORY PLANNER:

    • BACHELOR’S DEGREE – preferably related to Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or a relevant field
    • 7 – 10 YEARS OF FORECASTING/ANALYTICS EXPERIENCE, AND RELEVANT PLANNING EXPERIENCE - Coordinating with Internal Sales (Demand) and External Asia Vendors (Supply)
    • Previous experience working in the consumer electronics industry is preferred
    • Bilingual language ability in Mandarin Chinese is not required, but a big plus
    • A clear understanding of financial measurements (including sales, gross margin return on investment, weeks on hand, weeks of supply, etc.), and how to positively impact these metrics
    • Excellent and timely cross-functional communications across teams
    • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
    • Strong Excel, math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Experience in large ERP systems is a plus

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SR. INVENTORY PLANNER:

    • Be open to exploring new technologies/software in data/planning
    • Use current and historical shipment information, market trends, and POS data to develop demand plans and execute inventory buys
    • Work with internal sales and operations team to develop account-specific forecasts down to the SKU-level
    • Anticipate changes which can impact planning, such as new product launches, promotional activities, or seasonal changes
    • Work with operations to ensure manufacturing is aligned with the demand plan
    • Identify capacity or inventory constraints
    • Communicate any potential lead times issues or forecast adjustments to Operations and Account Managers
    • Supervise junior personnel on the team
    • Solve problems as they arise
    • Conduct ad-hoc analyses as needed
    • May also provide recommendations to current operational procedures
