  • Responsibilities

    The Credit Manager is responsible for all credit management and contract management functions of the organization.

    Credit Manager Qualifications:

    • Clean credit background.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent years’ experience.
    • Ten years progressive credit experience.
    • Experience in foodservice sales or distribution.
    • Corporate contract sales experience.
    • Two Years Credit Management Experience for $75M+ organization.
    • Strong business acumen with concentration in Accounting and Credit
    • Strong working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
    • Accurately interpret credit reports.
    • Strong negotiating skills.
    • Excellent customer service, sales-minded attitude.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling one to effectively and professionally interact and relate to various levels of personnel internally and externally.
    • Ability to lead a team professionally and effectively to achieve maximum productivity.
    • Advanced math skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and operating systems.
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent ability to assess, negotiate and follow up on credit issues.
    • High level of multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to maintain positive attitude and enthusiasm under all circumstances.

    Credit Manager Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee all credit functions for the division.
    • Establish credit terms.
    • Review contracts for proper language prior to acceptance.
    • Develop and utilize performance metrics of Credit Department.
    • Assist in modifying processes and procedures to maximize efficiency.
    • Act as liaison and collaborate with collection attorneys in conjunction with Controller.
    • Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit to customers.
    • Exercise wise judgement when making risk assessment decisions regarding terms, credit limits and payment plans, assessing trade references and customer history.
    • Act as liaison between Sales, Accounting, Credit, Design and Management for proper adherence to policies and approvals.
    • Attend NACM meetings as requested.
    • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relationships with internal (company personnel) and external (credit reporting agencies, credit insurance providers, customers) customers.
    • Protect Company’s value by keeping information confidential.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
    • Reflect commitment to growth in understanding of foodservice industry.
    • Other duties as assigned by Controller or CFO.
