    THE OPPORTUNITY:

    Knight Law Group, LLP is in search of a trial attorney with a minimum of ten years of litigation experience with a successful record of multiple jury verdicts as a first-chair trial attorney. A successful candidate will demonstrate a desire to serve the public interest by advocating on behalf of California consumers pursuing claims against car manufacturers and car dealers. The position calls for a hardworking and dedicated attorney that is interested in aggressive consumer advocacy. Knight Law Group offers a unique opportunity for an attorney that loves to be in the courtroom (and not stuck in written discovery battles) to hone their skills through high volume trials on behalf of California consumers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct depositions of PMQ corporate witnesses, high-level corporate witnesses, and expert witnesses

    • Prepare trial documents with second chair, including: motions, oppositions, jury instructions, verdict forms, witness lists, exhibit lists, and trial briefs

    • Prepare witnesses for trial testimony and draft examination outlines

    • Attend trial as a first chair trial attorney with the assistance of a second chair associate

    • Help to develop trial strategy

    • Assume responsibility for timely reporting and billing for hours worked

    • Assist in other tasks as assigned by the Partners

    • Communicate with partners and appellate specialists on potential post-trial appeals

    • Travel within California for 5-8 court day trials

    • Attend training session on Song-Beverly Act developments and willingness to implement partner-directed strategies in trial

    Ideal Skills and Experience

    • Minimum J.D. from an ABA accredited law school

    • California Bar license in good standing

    • Minimum 10 years of litigation experience as a California licensed attorney

    • Proven first chair trial record (please submit list of representative matters)

    • Willingness to learn and apply technology solutions and work in a paperless environment

    • Bilingual Spanish is preferred, but not required

    • Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook

    • Ability in decision-making and problem-solving

    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to track and comply with deadlines

    • Willingness to function in a team environment

    • Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, vehicle inspections, and depositions

    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to general office conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
