    Role Objectives: Responsible for the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment associated with the company’s offshore vessels, inshore vessels, line handling boats, and dock facilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Responsible for diesel inboard maintenance and repair.

    Responsible for onboard generator maintenance and repair.

    Responsible for outboard engine maintenance and repair.

    Perform routine maintenance/safety checks onboard vessels.

    Perform trouble shooting on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

    Assisting service providers with onboard maintenance and repair.

    Participating in afterhours callouts or emergency callouts

    Refueling boats when required.

    Maintaining the shop and surrounding grounds in good order including building and dock.

    Ability to operate a forklift.

    Ability to operate a crane.

    Purchasing supplies under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

    Picking up parts and supplies from vendors when necessary.

    Assisting in hurricane procedures when required

    Assisting management in developing and improving their Preventive Maintenance Program.

    Able use company truck to pull boats on trailers.

    Launch and retrieve boats from boat ramps.

    Basic electrical is a plus.

    Basic welding is a plus.

    Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

    Ability to work as a team, communicate and interact with others in a professional manner, and consider alternative and diverse perspectives.

    Education/Experience: ·

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Valid TWIC and Driver’s License.

    Be able to drive boats (state issue boat operator permit)

    5 years’ work experience or 2 year technical degree.

    Caterpillar, Cummins, and Yamaha experience is a plus.

    Jet propulsion experience is a plus.

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the maintenance mechanic is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    It is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance.

    The assistant must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    These tasks are performed day or night and in all types of weather conditions. Work on/near deep water and electricity.

    Ability to climb stairs/ladders.

    Ability to Stand for Extended Periods.

    Operate motor vehicles.

    Wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to hard hat, steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, safety glasses, goggles and full body coveralls.

    Ability to work around moving machinery.

    Ability to perform under stress, under pressure, and/or in emergency situations.

    Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (Cold or Heat).

    Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, reason logically, and make sound decisions.

    Ability to comprehend, remember, and follow verbal and written directions and comply with Company policies, procedures and standards.

    Ability to work at heights (scaffolding or ladders).

    Ability to work in noisy environments.

    Working Conditions:

    Work near others, usually within a few feet

    Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.

    Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.

    Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels, and the light is intense/glare.

    Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.

    Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

    Work surface is stable, height is elevated.

    Worker is subject to environmental conditions both inside and outside, with no effective protection from weather, with sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard, and to physical hazards, such as moving parts, vehicles, electricity, heights, and large bodies of deep water.
