  • Responsibilities

    The primary purpose of this role is to convert prospects to sales wins through the development and delivery of compelling leading edge supply chain solutions within the global technology and healthcare markets which will enable RR Donnelley SCS to establish and maintain world class relationships, achieve growth and profit targets and create long term customer value. The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert in supply chain models and will work with the global sales team, solutions team, account executives and site teams in determining optimum solutions for the customer base. The successful candidate will need to be able to develop and grow a relationship with the target at a senior decision making level.

    The key responsibilities of this role, against which performance is measured, include;

    An effective member of the RRD SCS Business Development team with an ability to convert prospects to results through interaction and teamwork with our Operations, Supply Chain, IT and Finance functions.

    Sell both global and local supply chain solutions to customers in the technology and medical/healthcare industries primarily in North America.

    Research to gain a deep understanding of the dynamics of each targets supply chain within the target sectors.

    Work with the lead generation teams to identify sectors/segments and prospects to achieve growth.

    Develop a solutions/consultative selling approach specific to customer market and requirements.

    Coordinate the sales process

    • Sector/segment analysis/filtering and target identification (supporting lead generation)
    • Supply Chain Mapping and analysis of options and impacts in terms of cost and service
    •  Identify/qualify opportunities and present at senior management level.
    • Working with solutions and site teams to develop a value proposition for the customer
    • Construct complex bids and proposals in conjunction with the customer and GTS internal teams
    • Work with target to make sure that RRD SCS meets and exceeds their requirements.
    • Negotiate contracts and close business through handing over to the operations/customer management team.

    Understand and articulate RRD SCS competitive advantage and value proposition for diverse customer requirements and markets.

    • Understand the capabilities of RRD SCS sites globally. Understand the broader RRD capabilities and support the development and drive the global RR DONNELLEY network for the customer – “one face to the customer”

    • Accurately report Business Development activities in a timely manner.

    • Manage relationships with customers and prospects that drive new revenue growth and a positive, healthy customer relationship for RRD SCS.

    • Support responses to RFQs and RFPs. Identify evolutionary solutions in which RRD SCS can deliver value beyond the scope of the RFQ

    • Produce and coordinate customer and site presentations with the ability to present detailed supply chain solutions to customers and prospects.

    • Participate in continuing education and stay aware of activities and developments in the technology and medical/healthcare sectors and any sub-segments that may be assigned.

    • Ensure that continuous improvement is part of the culture within the business development environment.

    • Identification of forums, channels, councils through which we can build this knowledge

    Attendance and support of forums, councils, Sector trade events, etc.

    Required Skills

    Degree or equivalent in Business, SCM, Engineering or related area

    Knowledge of Medical and Healthcare regulatory requirements in particular cGMP, ISO 13485 and clean room standards

    Global  technology and medical sector knowledge and understanding

    Customer facing experience, good communication skills.

     

    Required Experience

    10 years + Business Development/Sales experience in a similar sub-contract environment

    Previous reporting relationships should be at Senior Executive / VP level

     

  • Qualifications

    Degree or equivalent in Business, SCM, Engineering or related area

    Knowledge of Medical and Healthcare regulatory requirements in particular cGMP, ISO 13485 and clean room standards

    Global  technology and medical sector knowledge and understanding

    Customer facing experience, good communication skills.
