The Lead Teacher is full-time position sharing the responsibility with the Assistant Teacher for the care and education of children in the 2s program (2 and 3 year olds). The Teachers are responsible for planning daily learning experiences, implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, supervising children, communicating with parents, and providing a healthy and safe learning environment for the children.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood or elementary education or related field of study.
- 2 – 5 years of successful, related teaching experience.
- First Aid and CPR Training
- 90 Hour Childcare Certification
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds multiple times per day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
- Encourage children to interact with each other and solve problems collaboratively
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and conduct parent-teacher conferences to communicate child's strengths and weaknesses.
- Communicate with parents regularly through the Brightwheel app by positing updates and photos throughout the day
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Adapt classroom routines, environment, and instructional methods and strategies to meet students’ needs.
- Support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
- Ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs.
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- The teacher’s approach and demeanor set the tone for the classroom. An intentional, thoughtful approach and a calm demeanor are required for this position.
- Children and teachers need to be active. At Trinity, we encourage an hour each day of physical playtime as well as unstructured interactions with nature. Teachers must be able to supervise and plan for physical activity throughout the day.
- A teacher may use the curriculum as a flexible framework for teaching and to support the development of daily plans and learning experiences. Creativity, self-initiative, and leadership are required to engage the children in learning activities.
- The philosophy of Trinity Preschool is that children learn best by engaging in hands-on learning experiences, that the process of doing is as important as the product in a child’s development, and that children need to explore, create, and solve problems. Teachers must be able to plan appropriate lessons consistent with this philosophy.
