The ESG Director for FPA Multifamily will be responsible for the development of an ESG division that works alongside the acquisitions, operations, and investment teams. The role of the Director is to examine, analyze, and evaluate opportunities to increase usage of Environmental, Social and Governance practices that promote both financial and sound real estate investment practices as well as enhance the overall employee well-being within FPA Multifamily and its associated entities. The ideal candidate possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, is detail-oriented, and has had success in prior leadership capacities.
Core Responsibilities Include:
Adopting and implementing ESG practices and principles into daily aspects of our assets and operational teams.
Managing reporting tools and benchmarking performance to national/global standards.
Research and implement ESG Benchmarking KPI’s to ensure a smooth execution of these practices within FPA Multifamily operations.
Prepare and present key investment collateral to further solidify organizational commitment to ESG principles.
Internal leadership to further drive ESG integration, presenting to the board and contributing to investment meetings
Liaising with investors on key performance metrics and working closely on statistics for investor relations team
Challenge existing operational strategies within the organization to ensure aligned with ESG principles
Environmental
Work alongside Trinity “Green Team” in determining property benchmarks and implementing set standards for operational and asset adherence.
Standardize procedures and approach with design and development teams to create a consistent process for environmentally efficient practices in assets.
Engage with vendors and outside support operators on environmental efficient practices that can benefit FPA and its assets.
Manage environmental impacts to further a safe and healthy environment.
Enhance marketability to environmentally conscious stakeholders and increase overall building efficiencies.
Social
Assess existing employee benefit program to benchmark against competitors and present potential enhancements.
Work with team in the leading of Fowler Scholarship Program and help promote the accomplishments of its recipients.
Promote the diversity and inclusiveness of FPA Multifamily and ensure its appreciation is maintained and valued on an on-going basis.
Ensure wages in operating markets are in line with competitors and adjust for increases to cost of living.
Increase employee engagement and monitor turnover levels with the goal of reducing hiring expenses.
Governance
Maintain a work environment that values inclusiveness, builds workforce diversity and fosters cooperation and teamwork.
Oversee internal Code of Conduct to ensure high levels of professionalism and integrity within the organization.
Closely monitor performance and relationship from third-party vendors for its operational standards and contractual obligations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, preferred
Property Management or Real Estate experience and knowledge preferred
Research and Analyst background preferred
Polished written/verbal communication skills
Strong relationship builder and brand ambassador
Collaborative abilities
Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced and high demand environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Ability to travel nationally up to 30%
