SUMMARY
Sells products for Triplex, Inc to business and industrial establishments or individuals at customer's place of business by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews list of active customers and plan daily schedule of calls to maximize sales of Triplex material. Make daily calls on customers purchasing group, determine new requirements, develop quotations on spot inquiries or term contracts with larger users. Call on potential new accounts. Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. Develop contacts with decision makers. Provide information on Triplex philosophy and availability of materials. Secure initial orders.
Keep informed on competitors activities and materials and report significant items to Branch/Sales Manager and/or Regional Sales Managers. Handle Customer complaints to resolve problems in best mutual interest of Triplex and customer. Keep informed on price changes, new materials taken on by Triplex and overall Corporate Sales Programs. Study material applications or attend courses to enhance ability to sell total range of Triplex materials and to assist customer in the application of materials that will result in lowest cost. Majority of time is spent in the field, at our customers locations. This entails calling and servicing Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Planners 8 hours per day. Monday thru Fridays. Also, need to be available on call seven days a week after standard work week hours. Very little office time required. Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers by phone or in person.
Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. After receiving passed credit for new customers from the Corporate Office.
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules. May have to consult with Operations Manager.
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
Tracks stock levels.
Coordinates customer training.
Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
Attends trade shows.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
