The Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is looking for a teammate to help girls and young women achieve positive change as a Troop Engagement Specialist. In this sales-oriented role, you’ll meet with children, parents, educators and community groups to showcase the transformational impact of the Girl Scouts. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, team player, detail oriented, and has a strong desire for excellence.
Responsibilities may include:
- Create lasting connections with recruitment outlets, members, caregivers, schools, faith-based communities, community organizations, and other contacts
- Arrange, promote, and conduct events bringing volunteers and protentional scouts to learn more about Girl Scout membership and its benefits
- Form new troops, recruit new youth as scouts and new adults as leaders and volunteers
- Coach volunteers on best practices for troop management and help them set up their first 1-4 troop meetings
- Provide resources to and answer questions from troop leaders and volunteers through proactive and timely communication in person, over the phone, and in writing
- Communicate, collaborate and act as backup within your department and across cross functional teams
- Utilize data for strategic decision making for successful recruitment and support efforts
Requirements
- Excellent technical skills, including experience in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, as well as the ability to quickly learn new technology
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Strong organization skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently, meet deadlines and manage time with minimal oversight
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset
- Demonstrate initiative in solving problems; able to identify issues, analyze problems and develop solutions
- Professional demeanor and outstanding character
- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
