  • Responsibilities

     

    This position is a floater position which requires operation of both Box Truck and Tractor Trailer.

     

    The responsibilities of the Driver will encompass:

    • Deliver product to customers in a safe and timely manner by way of Box Truck and/or Tractor Trailer.

    • Arrive for daily shift on time and dressed in a clean and neat company uniform.

    • Maintain a satisfactory driving record and adhere to company guidelines regarding quality assurance and safety.

    • Maintain truck cleanliness and meet company standards for daily truck maintenance.

    • Attend weekly meetings

    • Make any/all deliveries assigned by supervisor, including but not limited to route deliveries and late runs/pickups

    • Maintain accurate logs as required by DOT

    • Adhere to cleaning schedule for assigned area’s

    • other duties as identified.

     

     

     

    Required Skills

     

    The successful candidate will possess:

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • At least 1 and a half years’ experience driving Class "A" Tractor Trailers / Commercial vehicles.

    • Ability to successfully pass the Maryland Department of Transportation road test.

    • Ability to operate a commercial vehicle, deck plates, handcart, hand jack, and other equipment as required by the employer

    • Strong customer service skills • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

    • Must hold necessary licensing requirements and credentials to operate assigned vehicles

    • Knowledge of working in a distribution environment essential

    • Product knowledge is a plus
