The ATCO ensures ATC systems are | | operationally acceptable and facilities collect and safeguard data on | | aircraft mishaps, emergencies, or violations. The ATCO is directly | | responsible for providing safe, efficient, and positive control of | | aircraft in and out of the airport. ATCO must ensure ATC/Flight | | Navigation publications/information are used and current. Incumbent will | | serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on ATC related issues in/outside of | | the facilities. Incumbent will train Afghan personnel and offer | | assistance in training or mentoring within assigned facility/facilities. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Duties typically include but not limited to) | | | | - Ensure training information is completed and validated for inclusion | | in the individual‘s personnel record. | | - Maintain safe and efficient control of aircraft, vehicles, and | | personnel on, in, and around, the airport. | | - Provide support for incidents, emergencies, and | | life-saving activities. | | - Implement approved ATC procedural changes in support of the flying | | mission, FWN and host nation requirements. | | - Maintain appropriate physical qualification requirements. | | - Complete all logs, forms, and documents IAW local/corporate | | guidelines to include trainer and facility watch | | supervisor certifications. | | - Ensure training is implemented in accordance with the Training | | OI (TOI) and initiate corrective actions as necessary. | | - Execute appropriate checklist and provide input on suggested | | ATC changes. | | - When delegated by Facility Chief, review, create and update products | | annually or at required intervals. | | - Implement procedures for opening and closing and be familiar with | | appropriate publications necessary to provide ATC services in | | each facility. | | - Maintain constant working knowledge and technique application of | | ICAO, FWN, and local rules and regulations. | | - Comply with established procedures for personnel returning from Duty | | Not Involving Controlling (DNIC) and leave. | | - Complete all training to remain current while ensuring incumbent is | | eligible for appropriate certifications. | | | | - Provide safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of aircraft at the | | airport and/or in the air. | | | | - Must be able to obtain and maintain all facility ratings. | | - Mentor or train Afghan personnel in performance of their | | assigned positions/duties. | | - Perform additional duties as assigned by Site Management. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+

    Required Experience

    +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: | | | | - High School graduate or equivalent. | | - Successful completion of a FAA, DoD, or ICAO Basic Air Traffic | | Control course. | | - Must have held ATC ratings for at least three (3) years. | | - Must have Five (5) years of experience with at least two years at a | | “like type” ATC facility to include Radar and/or Control Tower. | | - Watch Supervisor/Controller-In-Charge or equivalent preferred. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS: | | | | - Must possess FAA form 7220-1 with a Radar Approach Control rating | | and/or a Control Tower Operators Certificate (CTO) or equivalent | | ICAO license.
