STP is helping a 97-year-old fourth-generation family business that is a leader in the truck, equipment, and crane space hire for an experienced Shop Forman. This is a permanent direct-hire role.
Pay is $65,000 - 90,000 DOE
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading a team of six to ten technicians, including hiring, development, and mentoring.
- As a member of the Bow production team, you will assist in scheduling all Bow jobs and coordinate with counterparts at other Hews locations.
- Organize and schedule shop labor (make sure all the techs have jobs lined up)
- Review all shop orders before they start. Identify and highlight potential issues.
- Assist technicians in developing repair and install strategies for complex jobs (e.g., working with suppliers and ordering needed parts through a supply chain group).
- Monitor all jobs as they progress and highlight/resolve problems. Ensure orders are updated daily.
- Work with the service writer to price, process, and complete text on repair orders as needed.
- Review completed jobs with techs, complete quality inspection, and time review.
- When follow-up repairs are needed, discuss them with the service writer and devise a plan of recommended repairs and deficiencies to be reviewed with the customer.
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with truck equipment installation/repair or similar
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical diagrams and troubleshooting
- Previous supervisory experience
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional training or an Associate degree from a technical school or equivalent experience.
