Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting procedures, creating, and distributing financial documents and reports, coding and booking to the GL, helping facilitate the closing of the books, as well as serving backup to the other Accountants and Accounting Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Cash Management: Assist with the management of daily cash positions and forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs
• Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, resolve discrepancies, and assist with ensuring all banking transactions are recorded accurately
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Analyze invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment
• Reviews month end reconciliations prepared by A/P and A/R staff
• Oversee the Rebate Specialist and rebate payment process

• Prepare higher level accounting journal entries (i.e., intercompany transactions) & month end account reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Conduct account research and analysis and provide insight on variances
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Assist with audit activities
• Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Streamline accounting processes for efficiency
• Other ad hoc requests as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Driven and a natural positive leader
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive and Positive
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Net Suite, FlowQast, Excel (V Look-ups and Pivot Tables- Excel is crucial), PowerBI is a plus
