    Controller Position

    JOB SUMMARY

    As the Controller, your pivotal role involves shaping and guiding our accounting department toward scalability and excellence. Your responsibilities include overseeing daily accounting activities to ensure a robust control environment. This position presents an exciting opportunity for an individual adept at blending strong accounting skills, business insight, and strategic thinking to assume a leadership role in our rapidly expanding business.

    Principal Duties:

    Collaborate closely with the vertical CFO and Corporate Controller of the parent company to establish and implement financial and accounting operations. Ensure accurate reporting of financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Supervise all aspects of the month-end closing process, including reviewing staff-prepared journal entries, accruals, reserves, and ensuring timely closure of the general ledger. Actively seek opportunities to enhance planning and reporting processes, with a focus on achieving a 10-day close for financial reporting. Contribute to the implementation of a new General Ledger and ERP system to streamline the reporting process. Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Manage billing and collection functions to ensure timely invoicing and collections in accordance with credit terms. Supervise accounts payable functions to ensure the prompt processing of vendor invoices. Oversee treasury functions. Manage payroll functions for both salaried and hourly technician employees. Conduct cash flow forecasting. Ensure proper revenue recognition according to US GAAP. Direct all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger transactions. Collaborate on operational matters with managers from various departments. Assist in providing financial information to the parent company upon request. Develop, implement, and enforce internal financial and accounting policies and procedures in preparation for business expansion. Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization, offering insights into overall performance and integration. Participate in recruiting, developing, and retaining skilled accounting staff. Lead key financial processes, including annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts. Provide essential information and insights to the management team to support decision-making. Exhibit the highest ethical standards and leadership qualities within the organization.

    Candidate Attributes

    Essential:

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting Over 3 years of public accounting experience Over 3 years of industry experience Over 2 years of managerial experience (leading staff members) Proven experience managing a company's general ledger and overseeing the month-end closing process from start to finish Familiarity with percentage of completion accounting Proficiency in invoicing, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions Strong knowledge of US GAAP Excellent ability to translate accounting and financial information into layman's terms Outstanding interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and teamwork Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities A positive and resourceful can-do attitude

    Desirable:
