    THE ROLE

    Our Client is a facilities management company corporate headquartered in the beautiful Texas hill country has asked us to help them find a HOSPITAL FACILITIES DIRECTOR for one of their client locations in EL PASO, TEXAS.

    This key role reports to and works collaboratively with the Our Client leadership team while also supporting the medical center leadership team. This position will plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control the activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions which are necessary to maintain the physical structures (HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems and grounds) of this facility in an operative and safe working condition.

    Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Ensures and evaluates the competency of all staff. Assists in formulating the budget. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all regulatory agencies, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. The position reports to the Regional Director.

    The role will provide ongoing customer service and issues management for all accounts to ensure continued strength and retention of client facility relationships and to maintain/grow referral volume. You will routinely visit each facility and key contacts there to promptly address concerns, ensure all regulatory compliance, identify service opportunities and assess performance/service satisfaction.

    The position also is responsible for Safety, Life Safety and Emergency Management programs in order to maintain a clean and safe environment for all patients, residents, visitors and personnel.

    EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    -Bachelor degree PREFERRED, minimum of an associate degree (AA) or equivalent degree from two (2) year college or technical school; or 5 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • 5 - 7+ years’ experience leading a POM staff

    -Must complete and/or take all required health screenings and vaccines as required by the medical facility

    -Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an acute care hospital setting

    -Minimum five (5) years’ experience with Life Safety, Emergency Management, Joint Commission, and Environment of Care required

    -Must have minimum of five (5) years’ experience with MEP, POM, construction, and project management experience

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    While performing the duties of the Director, Plant Operations and Maintenance, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; and with explosives and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
