    HR SPECIALIST ( PLEASE NOTE: CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCATED IN DALLAS TO BE CONSIDERED )

    TruePoint is seeking a driven, proactive HR Specialist to join our team and help us take our employee experience to the next level. This individual must be a creative problem-solver with out-of-box thinking and innovation to bring fresh, high-impact ideas. We aren't looking for someone who applies the "standard HR way" and "old-school" thinking.

    They must be detailed-oriented, very organized, and able to drive projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. They also need to have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skill sets.

    The HR Specialist will support the agency through all stages of the employee's journey, starting with hiring. This individual will also be involved in payroll/benefits, hiring, onboarding, strategic employee experience projects, talent and performance management, managing HR policies, company culture events, training, and other HR/operations duties.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Employee Lifecycle

    • Own onboarding and provide a great onboarding experience by building out curriculums, experiences, trainings, and pre/post onboarding material and surveys
    • Own the employee exit process (including interviews) and off-boarding
    • Assist with 90-day reviews and annual review processes
    • Maintain employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating
    • Assist with employee performance plans and documentation
    • Assist with company surveys and feedback
    • Partner with leaders across the company on key retention strategies
    • Provide guidance on employee relations issues
    • Help with developing and executing company culture initiatives and events
    • Provide counsel on DEI efforts
    • Assist with social media strategies and campaigns that highlight our People and Culture

    Payroll, Benefits, and Policies

    • Process payroll and manage related platforms, issue end-of-year tax forms
    • Manage health and insurance programs and provide first-line support to employees and benefits vendors
    • Track and manage PTO
    • Help evaluate existing benefits and pricing and provide information to support benefit vendor negotiations and contracts
    • Explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees in group trainings
    • Keep up to date on changes in federal and state legislation affecting TruePoint and employees and advise Operations on appropriate policies for relevant states
    • Create, implement, and evaluate human resources and benefits processes, procedures, and structures
    • Maintain and publish employee handbook and acknowledgments

    Hiring Process

    • Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process
    • Identify, manage, build, and track hiring pipelines (ATS, job postings, and advertising)
    • Perform background checks, screen candidates, and contact references
    • Schedule interviews, oversee the preparation of interview questions, and manage scorecards and assessments
    • Assist the Head of HR, agency leadership, and Operations during the offer process
    • Inform applicants of job details, such as duties, benefits, and schedules
    • Propose and implement ongoing innovations and improvements to the recruitment process
    • Assist in proactively building a talent pipeline, including referral generation, internet, and social media sourcing, networking, industry events, and marketing campaigns
    • Track and report on goals, metrics (including measuring candidate experience), and performance
    • Understand employee opinions and experiences; provide a point of view, anticipate needs, and address concerns proactively
    • Perform other HR duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3+ years in HR, hiring, payroll/benefits, and onboarding roles
    • Must be a creative problem-solver who brings out-of-the-box thinking to innovate HR policies, processes, programs, etc. We're not looking for someone who brings the typical, standard, "old-way" thinking and results.
    • Proven ability to successfully collaborate across multiple lines of business, problem-solve, manage projects (from start to finish) and manage-up
    • Strong understanding of compliance, state laws, and HR best practices
    • Have a highly professional demeanor, positive outlook, resilient, and an innovative, can-do attitude
    • Previous experience working with payroll, Applicant Tracking Systems, and other HR systems
    • Previous experience handling open enrollment, employee benefits, PTO tracking, employee reviews, and employee disciplinary issues
    • High “EQ” skills to build bridges, forge alliances, develop meaningful relationships, and encourage people to want to work with you
    • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks, maintaining attention to detail (including error-free work), being responsive, and adhering to deadlines
    • Technically astute and highly competent in Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
    • Ability to think through ambiguous issues/problems independently, be curious, and propose potential solutions
    • Desire to be helpful to leadership and co-workers by going the extra mile without being asked
    • Ability to handle highly confidential, sensitive information with discretion
    • Be willing to tackle hard conversations head-on and resolve conflicts when needed
    • Be empathetic and seek to understand other viewpoints
    • Must be very organized
    • Ability to think strategically but also focus on tactical and operational issues
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
