    We are currently recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) Director Cancer Center & Transplant to work in Riverside, California in a 373-bed facility in southern California. The hospital is undergoing an expansion project that will add 100 new patient beds, four new operating room, a new cafeteria, and more to this state-of-the-art facility.

    This comprehensive care center offers a full range of services, including a Heart Care Institute, Level II NICU, and a Center for Surgical Weight Loss. The quality of these services has earned this facility numerous awards and accreditations, such as a Commission on Cancer accreditation for its cancer program and a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center.     Job Responsibilities of the Director Cancer Center & Transplant RN:

    • The Director will drive operational excellence for the Cancer Center & Transplant service line ensuring the delivering of high quality, patient centered care through program development under the direction of the VP Operations.
    • The candidate will serve as a leader for executing mid and long-range strategic initiatives to optimize operational performance while managing operational short-range planning and execution related to disease site performance, marketing, and compliance.
    • The nurse will execute the coordination of various operational initiatives, and tactical plans, tracking operations performance against key performance indicators (metrics).
    • The Director will ensure operational support to facilities involved in the strategic implementation of Cancer Center & Transplant Services programs, mentoring colleagues to ensure optimum team performance.
    • This leader will work with the VP of Operations as well as the Vice President of Strategy & Business Development in carrying out the vision for the Cancer and Transplant service lines.
    Job Qualifications of the Director Cancer Center & Transplant RN:
    • MUST have a Current CA RN Nursing License.
    • MUST have a master’s degree.
    • MUST have recent Acute Care Experience within the last year.
    • Minimum 3 years experience in End-Stage Renal Disease ESRD (preferred) Oncology Certified.
    • Nurse OCN (preferred) Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse CCTN (preferred) Transplant Services and/or Oncology.
    • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
    • Demonstrated competence and skill in the practice of nursing.
    • Monitors and manages Cancer Center & Transplant operations performance including disease site-specific quality metrics, safety, volumes, physician relations, and patient satisfaction.
    • Participates in, and or manages assigned disease-specific workgroups.
    • Ensures region’s regulatory compliance; monitors changes in applicable laws and regulations (DPH, ACR and/or other governing bodies), compliance with region’s quality and safety programs; ensures the highest standards of patient care.
    • Maintains knowledge of health care trends in academic and community Cancer Center & Transplant settings and keeps current with Cancer Center & Transplant standards of patient care through journals, articles, conferences, etc.
    • Ensures highest levels of client satisfaction; proactively resolves any potential client/partner/oncologist issues.
    • Attend Cancer Center and Transplant committee meetings, tumor board conferences, and cancer program administrative meetings, as appropriate.
    • Demonstrates problem-solving approaches and responds to questions, concerns, issues in a timely manner.
    • Identifies new areas for partnership/collaboration and relationship development.
    • Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with key representatives, including but not limited to VP Operations, Administrators, other program managers and colleagues, Medical Directors, relevant physicians, Marketing Directors, Public Relations Director, and Coordinator of Community Outreach.
    • Assures implementation of established guidelines, policies, and procedures. Works with staff and physicians in creating and implementing objectives for the provision of safe and effective patient care; Evaluates effectiveness of policies and procedures and make recommendations for change. Identifies and recommends opportunities to impact performance trends favorably (staffing level optimization, overtime, etc.) and implements approved action plans to ensure optimum performance.

    • Ability to relate and work effectively with other health professionals, patients, and their families.
    • Self-directed and motivated; willing to act on own initiative.
    • Capacity for long-range creative planning and implementation of programs and projects.
    • Ability to apply clinical management principles.
    Compensation of the Director Cancer Center & Transplant RN:
    • Salary: $56.08 - $84.12 based on experience.
    • Sign-on: Case by case basis.
    • Relocation: Yes, but to approve relocation assistance, the distance needs to be great than 250 miles.
    • ALL Director/VP's earn up to 15% annual bonus.
    • Matching 401(k) contributions ranging from 3-9%.
