  • Responsibilities

    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    This position will be responsible for providing engineer related support to various production departments to assist with:  developing and/or updating existing operating manuals for equipment and employee training documents and procedures; equipment performance metrics (i.e. downtime and waste reduction) and quality improvements.

    JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

    • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) process to identify root cause and determine corrective actions to prevent recurrence of equipment failure
    • Analyze downtime to identify “bad actors” and assist in prioritizing efficient make-ready, runnability and reliability improvement efforts
    • Lead one or more projects that will be started and completed within the summer
    • Assist in maintaining and modifying existing equipment, make-ready processes and control systems
    • Assist in writing standard operating procedures and SQF processes
    • Provide engineering support for other departments as needed
    • Present project savings to the department periodically and in total at the end of the internship

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical or related Engineering discipline.

     INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

    • Three (3) positions
    • Full-Time Preferred (40 hours per week)
    • Duration (May/June – August/Sept)
    • Pay Based on Year in College and Previous Work Experience
    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical or related Engineering discipline.

  • Qualifications

    Forklift or Heavy Equipment experience preferred, but not required.

    Must be able to;

    • Lift 65 pounds from ground level to standing position, 20 pounds above head.
    • Pull 20 pounds from a standing position, from various levels, including above head.
    • Pull 20 pounds from a kneeling position, from various level, including above head.
    • Stand and/or walk for a 10 hour shift.
    • Frequently bend and stoop during a 10 hour shift.

    Attention to detail when delivering over sized loads and the ability to do simple math, read orders, follow delivery instructions.

    Communicate with customers, other associates and supervisors using verbal and written skills. Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.

    Temperatures will vary. (When its hot, we're hot.  When it's Cold, we're cold.  When it rains, we get wet!)

    Eye protection and steel toed (safety toed) hard sole leather boots required at all times.

    Overtime work could be involved.
