    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Vallen Safety Services is looking for a Level-1 Operator (Vision Operator) to join our remote confined space team! The Level-1 Operator will make confined space entry when required, watch over the personnel inside a confined space using the Vision CCTV system, review electronic information from cameras, integrated gas detection systems, access control and communicate with entrants via the intercom system, while maintaining the requirements and conditions set by the customer regarding the safety of the people during a turnaround or any other possible use of Vision during a deployment. ensures that all tasks are managed in accordance with the Customer’s requirements and the Company’s programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures compliance with all Company policies/procedures and maintains/improves good customer relations by providing quality, timely services.

    Its preferred that Level-1 Operators have at least two years in the TA or construction industry Certificate manhole watcher/safety attendant a plus or have been in a lead position on two previous positions and have some technical abilities

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Operator/Rover makes confined space entry when required, watch over the personnel inside a confined space using the Vision CCTV system, review electronic information from cameras, integrated gas detection systems, access control and communicate with entrants via the intercom system.

    • Obtains and reviews entire permit at job site, identifies any mistakes, ensures that mistakes are corrected. Sets up the job per procedures for work being performed. Knows who to contact in case of emergency and where the nearest eyewash and safety showers are located.
    • Controlling and monitoring access to and from the confined space
    • Identify and stop hazardous or risky situations
    • Monitoring atmospheric conditions in the confined space before and during and after entry
    • Be aware of all rules and regulations applicable on customer site
    • Follows all steps required before allowing work per guidelines and procedures specific to work being performed. Ensured that all workers have on the PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) specified on the permit.
    • Follows all procedures while work is in progress. Keeps visual and/or radio communication with crew. Observes work conditions and maintains awareness of anything that could endanger the workers.
    • Conducts job completion routine and completes all documentation per procedure.
    • Assists others as needed.

    OPERATOR/ROVER TASKS:

    • Operating the Vision software and equipment at the operations level
    • Observing live images to ensure the safety of persons and/or goods
    • Observe and act upon violations of safety, this will be in accordance with established Vision -and each project specific procedures
    • Effective reporting and communication on the project and with Vallen Safety Services.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and the proper use of PPE and presence of entrance permit
    • Ensure good housekeeping
    • Evacuation of confined spaces in case of emergency
    • Notify entrants with identified deficiencies via intercom
    • Communication with contractors to get audio confirmation they are doing well
    • Providing any support needed to emergency services if required
    • Report and document all incidents, Report, and document of all equipment damages
    • Regular testing of the system including its ups system
    • Regular checking the system components, report defect and requesting repairs
    • The operator is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
    • May be frequently exposed to rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water, and electrical hazards.
    • Will be required to assist rigging system in and rigging system out at the end of a project

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous plant experience a plus
    • Must have valid I9 documents
    • Ability to read, write and comprehend
    • Work 7-days a week 12-hour shifts

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma
    • 6 months – 1 year customer service experience preferred
    •  No previous photography experience necessary
    • Friendly, outgoing, and proactive individual
    • Cash handling experience
    • Ability to work weekends and holidays with occasional evenings
    • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check
    • Allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work, must be controlled by medications or protective equipment.
    • Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop, walk long distances
    • Ability to work in all weather conditions
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

     

    PAY RATE: $12.50 PER HOUR
