    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Head Usher position consists of making sure all indoor/outdoor theaters meet the requirements needed for providing a safe and pleasant experience for guests attending a show or event by taking ownership of the venue and showing leadership to their teammates.  This position is designated to have a high focus on positive guest interactions including, but not limited to, answering questions, being welcoming, exuding a positive countenance and demonstrating an overall enthusiastic demeanor.  The Head Usher will also supervise/participate in sanitizing and cleaning of high touch points in and around both indoor/outdoor theater locations.

     

    SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Oversee the cleanliness and sanitization of indoor/outdoor theater houses, queue lines, closets, and surrounding areas and report any maintenance needs to Lead and/or Supervisor.
    • Oversee daily assignment of usher positions both inside and outside the theater. Hold brief meeting each morning to discuss assignments.
    • Provide training for new ushers, including how to handle guest opportunities and following all company policies.
    • Guarantee show times are posted accurately each day.
    • Provide guests in line proper attention prior to and during loading/unloading the theater.
    • Ensure ushers inside/outside the theater are providing a safe environment for guests as needed.
    • Be a positive servant leader for ushers and an exceptional usher.
    • File reports on the computer when needed.
    • Communicate with the stage manager regarding theater operations such as: house opening, reserved seating, temperature control, etc.
    • Serve as theater leadership in regards to all concerns or questions before contacting Entertainment PIC.
    • Perform regular usher duties.
    • Rotate between multiple indoor/outdoor theaters locations to support team as needed.

    • Able to push and/or pull.
    • Ability to work with and tolerate detergents and chemicals utilized in the area.
    • Able to wear all PPE as required.
    • Able to tolerate noise at high levels.
    • Ability to climb stairs.
    • Must be comfortable with public speaking to a large crowd during an emergency situation.
    • Must be able to periodically scan the theater to ensure the safety of our guests.

     

    Required Experience

    • Minimum 18 years of age.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Leadership experience preferred, within an entertainment field highly preferred.
    • Basic computer skills required.
    • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
    • Excellent verbal communicator – consistent and detailed.
