At BMC, the Production Supervisor leads by example as they oversee the day-to-day operations of millwork production. This individual has great leadership qualities and organization, as they are also in charge of developing schedules and ensuring assignments are finished in a timely manner.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise associates involved in all facets of the millwork facility, including measuring, cutting, assembly, sanding, finishing, order filling, loading, and housekeeping.
- Develop work assignments and schedules, and maintain time and production records.
- Confer with yard/warehouse to plan and allocate use of materials and equipment.
- Ensure production schedules are met, and that all orders are completed per specifications.
- May be responsible for procuring and pricing millwork products.
- May be actively involved with the budget and review process.
- Maintain inventory records on all production items.
- May be actively involved in recruiting, hiring, associate orientation, training, and disciplining associates.
- Perform activities of workers supervised.
- Operate machinery as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
- Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
- Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
- Open and responsive to change.
- Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Ability to write simple reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
- Exceptional Excel skills.
- Ability to define and solve practical problems; interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
- Ability to respond to complaints, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- May require forklift certification.
- Must be able to read engineering and layout plans; have basic blueprint reading skills and general construction knowledge.
- Ability to work with and get along with a variety of people.
Required Experience
- Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have supervisory experience and knowledge of the industry.
