    At BMC, the Production Supervisor leads by example as they oversee the day-to-day operations of millwork production. This individual has great leadership qualities and organization, as they are also in charge of developing schedules and ensuring assignments are finished in a timely manner. 

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Supervise associates involved in all facets of the millwork facility, including measuring, cutting, assembly, sanding, finishing, order filling, loading, and housekeeping.
    2. Develop work assignments and schedules, and maintain time and production records.
    3. Confer with yard/warehouse to plan and allocate use of materials and equipment.
    4. Ensure production schedules are met, and that all orders are completed per specifications.
    5. May be responsible for procuring and pricing millwork products.
    6. May be actively involved with the budget and review process.
    7. Maintain inventory records on all production items.
    8. May be actively involved in recruiting, hiring, associate orientation, training, and disciplining associates.
    9. Perform activities of workers supervised.
    10. Operate machinery as required.
    11. Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
    12. Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
    13. Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
    14. Open and responsive to change.
    15. Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
    16. Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
    17. Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
    18. Other duties as assigned.

     

     

    Required Skills

    1. Minimum education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
    2. Ability to write simple reports and correspondence.
    3. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
    4. Exceptional Excel skills. 
    5. Ability to define and solve practical problems; interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
    6. Ability to respond to complaints, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    7.  May require forklift certification.
    8.  Must be able to read engineering and layout plans; have basic blueprint reading skills and general construction knowledge.
    9. Ability to work with and get along with a variety of people.

    Required Experience

    1. Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. Must have supervisory experience and knowledge of the industry.
