  • Responsibilities

    Under supervision of the Oasis Hospital Materials Manager, the Materials Tech works in accordance with standardized procedures of the Materials Management Department.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Receiving and processing all requisitions for all departments in the hospital.
    • Receiving and inspection of shipments, verifying contents for accuracy against purchase order and for possible damage. Processing packing slips with purchase orders daily and input data into computer.
    • Maintaining appropriate levels of inventory for all areas of the hospital.
    • Delivering supplies to all departments for appropriate signatures on the purchase order.
    • Ordering supplies from vendors pertaining to all stock and non-stock items. Monitor/process returns from various departments to vendors.
    • Maintaining record of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and reconciles any discrepancies. Processing packing slips with purchase orders daily and input data into system. Sending purchase orders to billing/business office for all chargeable items used.
    • Assist with inventory control and cost containment.

    Required Skills

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    • Effectively communicate both verbally and written in English.
    • Perform calculations at a level generally acquired through completion of high school.
    • Knowledge of department supply items, medical terminology preferred.
    • Experience using materials management related software.
    • Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
    • Skills to maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff.
    • Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
