    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The PPE Sales Manager, under the direction of the National Sales Manager or General Manager, is responsible for the development and implementation of a sales strategy, participation in the marketing plan and to achieve budgeted sales volume of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Encon Safety Products within their defined geographical regional trade area while maintaining their budgeted sales expense levels set by Encon Safety Products management.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  (Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned)

    The individual will be responsible for sales and market growth, to:

    • Achieve sales objectives for assigned products in all existing accounts and designated markets in your territory.
    • Achieve market penetration in accordance with goals.
    • Maintain and develop distributor relationships to help achieve sales goals determined and defined by Encon (Sales) Management.
    • Complete any Management by Objective (MBO) goals that will be determined by Encon Sales Management from time to time.
    • Assist Encon’s Business Managers and Marketing Department in the development of catalog and other advertising programs for distributors.
    • Effectively manage distributor partners and/or manufacturers representatives, including but not limited to establishment of their goals and targets and subsequent follow up to ensure success.
    • Look for and recommend additional channels of distribution for Encon products.
    • Achieve sales and any EBIT goals while staying within the set expense objectives for all required activity in the assigned territory as well as any required and designated travel expense for corporate support as deemed necessary by Encon Management.
    • Follow up on all designated customer leads created for the territory.
    • Assist in the preparation of initial customer proposal, which leads to negotiations.
    • Assist in the negotiating the appropriate contract pricing set by Encon Management.
    • Ensure national account pricing and service levels are properly communicated.
    • Provide call reports to ensure maximum sales opportunity is deployed.
    • Maintain positive customer working relationships.
    • Participate in trade associations in accordance with involvement designated by Encon Management.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

            EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to ten years related sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    The individual must be able to:

    • Develop strategies for sales growth in all targeted distributor accounts.
    • Develop Encon business to achieve market share goals.
    • Implement specific product strategies including new product recommendations as will be required and determined by management.
    • Consistently evaluate and recommend adjustments in distribution network to maximize Encon market penetration.
    • Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision
    • Demonstrate good time management skills
    • Possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
    • Set goals and meet deadlines
    • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
    • Demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner
    • Exert a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution
    • Establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management
    • Demonstrate the ability to mentor new staff and to work with existing staff to cross-train across various accounting functions
    • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
