    We are actively seeking an individual to join us as a Clinical Coordinator, RN to support the clinic of two Physicians and two Nurse Practitioners.

    This polished and professional person will have excellent communication skills. A clinical coordinator monitors the day to day operations of the physician’s office in terms of organizing, scheduling and evaluating programs which provides for quality patient care while guaranteeing that the practice being done is within the clinic standards.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Description

    As Clinical Coordinator, you coordinate and supervise daily Nursing practices in your Physician and Nurse Practitioner’s practice. You will also assist the Physician with the evaluation and remediation of staff, financial management, development of standards of practice, supply and inventory along with assessment of patient outcomes in response to the patient care provided. Further, you will act as a resource and mentor to staff. You will also be involved in direct patient care.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Utilizes the nursing process to deliver proper nursing care to assigned patients.

    Collaborates with the assigned physician and other health care team members in developing and implementing care plans.

    Educates patients regarding procedures and interventions using health teach opportunities and resources.

    Evaluates assigned nursing staff’s performance of their job duties.

    Provides supervision/direction to Nursing staff in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.

    Serves as a resource for problem solving and as a role model to other members of the team.

    Assigns Nursing Care based on procedures and skill level required; and ensures assignments are completed by staff.

    Collaborates on development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care and practice.

    Supports, facilitates, and participates in quality improvement activities.

    Follows opening and closing procedures according to medical office guidelines. Must make sure that all necessary doors and cabinets are open at start of day and locked at end of day.

    Greets patients and parents in polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instructions and directions. Brings patients to the exam room notified of patient arrivals by the established light system when the nursing staff is not available.

    Reviews all forms for accuracy and completion according to office policies prior to patient departure.

    Applies provided billing codes accurately at check out.

    Answers incoming calls from patients and either processes the call or transfers calls to the appropriate medical staff. Phones in prescriptions and processes sample ready calls directing. Completes other calls as directed.

    Maintains clean and orderly work area in the exam room if directed to do so.Conducts self in accordance with employee manual.

    Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

    Inventories and requisitions supplies at materials to stock own area as needed.

    Performs data entry, recording, storing, or maintaining information in either written form or by computer in EHS.

    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, nurses and other staff.

    Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or have sufficient experience in the medical field that would qualify you for this position. Must be a caring and compassionate person able to put patients at ease using excellent communication skills. Computer proficiency is required and software such as EMR, Word, Excel and other program are strongly preferred. Must be able to read and write legibly and follow written and verbal instructions.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT

    The clinical coordinator may work in several settings. The most typical is in the clinic, working in the usual 40 hour work week. They will have to spend most of their time wither sitting down in front of the computer or standing up during coordination with other staff.

    Since this involves coordination with other staff, expect to be under a lot of pressure as well as stress. Expect long hours of work as needed which can extend to working on weekends depending on the facility that you are assigned to work on.

    The specific work environment for this position is a multiple doctor's facility working for one of the physicians in his or her clinical area. This position involves considerable standing as well as sitting at a work station, sole responsibility for his or her working environment and it involves working as part of a medical team. Typically, all required responsibilities are completed in the assigned clinical area although walking to other areas within the clinic can be necessary. The environment may be stressful at times because patients can become quite anxious when waiting on the physicians or nurse practitioner and the ability to keep them clam is part of this job's responsibilities.

    The position requires continual stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and finger use. Pushing and pulling are occasionally required.
