    MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH SOPHISTICATED TRUSTS and ESTATE PLANNING MATTERS We are an estate planning and asset protection law firm and our mission is to help our clients preserve and protect their family, assets, and ultimately, their legacy. The right candidate will have experience in the areas of U.S. estate planning and administration with a background/focus on tax and wealth transfer planning for high-net-worth individuals within and outside the United States, as well as the representation of fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the administration of trusts and estates. Knowledge of Florida trust administration as well as knowledge of Asset Protection and closely held business matters is desired. If all you know how to do is draft basic estate planning documents, this role is not for you. • Draft comprehensive estate and gift tax planning structures, as well as corporate transactions, including preferred partnership freezes, Family Limited Partnerships, ILITs, SLATS, charitable lead annuity trusts, intentionally defective irrevocable trusts, and tax-free reorganizations • Prepare and file Federal Form 706 for Estate and Generation-Skipping Taxes, coordinate with clients and service providers (CPAs, Financial Advisors, Insurance Providers) to receive supporting documentation, prepare and file extensions where necessary • Prepare and file Form 709 for United States Gift Taxes for transfers to individual donees, gifting trusts, generation-skipping trusts, etc., and ensure proper tax treatment with respect to cost basis, lifetime gifting exemptions, and split-gifts • Analyze trust and estate planning documents and advise clients with respect to trustees' powers and duties, dispositive provisions, beneficiary rights, and tax treatment of distributions • Administer individual and family trusts with respect to investment and banking activity, real estate investments including rental properties, corporate and partnership interests, and ensure federal tax compliance • Produce trust/fiduciary accountings for Attorney-Trustees including management of incoming bank statements, identifying and recording income and disbursements in accounting software, and delivering accountings to trust beneficiaries Compensation: We pay a base salary plus quarterly bonuses based on hours billed. You will also get a percentage of any matter you bring into the firm. $120,000 - $140,000 Base plus Qtly Bonuses & Origination If you already have a book of business, please describe it in the cover letter. Responsibilities: You will be a hard-working team player responsible for all facets of a client's matter which would include: • Analyze clients' situations and devise practical solutions • Compose and edit intricate planning documents • Liaise with clients, other legal professionals, and relevant parties • Construct and advise clients on complex corporate formations and structures • Manage documentation and administrative matters from start to finish • Oversee, supervise, and direct team members who report to you • Review Foundational Estate Plans before submittal to Client Qualifications: • Holding a membership with The Florida Bar is mandatory! • You must have enough experience in Estate Planning, Asset Protection, and Trust Administration to show PROFICIENCY, CERTAINTY, and INDEPENDENCE in this role • Knowledge of and the aptitude to quickly learn new legal concepts in an area that is always changing • Know or learn to use various drafting software like WealthDocs and Client Management Software like Clio is essential • Command of both English and Spanish • We are a flexible law firm but this is NOT a remote position as clients come in to see us all the time - Our office is in Coral Gables. Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 yearly
