We are seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney with experience or strong interest in trusts, conservatorships, probate and trust litigation to join our growing boutique law firm. We represent clients in all areas of the Estate Planning World. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients to carry out their estate planning needs and to assist with disputes involving wills, trusts, estates, and fiduciary duties. Responsibilities: • Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Keep client files properly organized and up to date Key Responsibilities: • Represent clients in probate and trust litigation matters, including will contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims, trust modifications, and elder financial abuse cases • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and discovery requests/responses • Conduct legal research and analyze complex factual and legal issues • Participate in mediations, court hearings • Collaborate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel to advance case strategy • Maintain timely communication with clients and provide legal advice throughout the process • Manage deadlines and case files with attention to detail and strategic thinking Qualifications: • Great communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Experience at a legal firm working on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years is required • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Active member of the California Bar Association Compensation: $115,000 - $135,000 yearly
