    Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000+ (Based on experience)

    About the Opportunity

    My client, a highly respected and growing public accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Trust & Estate Manager (CPA) to join their team. This is a top-priority search for a seasoned professional who is passionate about trust and estate work and ready to take a leadership role in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

    Ideal candidates will be based in South Florida (Miami or Boca Raton), but outstanding professionals in Denver or remote locations will also be considered.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee trust and estate engagements for high-net-worth individuals and families, ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Lead the preparation and review of complex trust, estate, and gift tax returns (including Forms 1041, 706, 709, and related filings).
    • Advise clients on sophisticated estate planning strategies, tax minimization, and wealth transfer techniques.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, attorneys, and financial advisors, delivering exceptional client service and building long-term relationships.
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional growth.
    • Conduct and document tax research on trust and estate matters, staying current with evolving laws and industry best practices.
    • Assist with IRS and state tax examinations and respond to inquiries as needed.
    • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives to improve processes, enhance client experience, and support business development.

    Qualifications

    • Active CPA license required.
    • At least 7–8 years of recent experience in public accounting, with a strong focus (60–75% or more) on trust and estate tax work.
    • Expertise in preparing and reviewing trust, estate, and gift tax returns (Forms 1041, 706, 709, etc.).
    • Deep knowledge of federal and state trust and estate tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Proven ability to advise high-net-worth clients on tax planning and wealth transfer strategies.
    • Strong leadership, supervisory, and mentoring skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities—able to explain complex concepts to clients and colleagues.
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with trust and estate tax software and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CCH, GoSystem, or similar applications is a plus.
