    The Trustmark Companies is currently seeking an HR intern for our 2024 Summer Internship Program which will run from June 3 to August 9. We are looking for someone who is interested in helping move forward key initiatives while gaining insights into talent management operations. In this position, you will get hands-on experience working on organizational development and talent acquisition project work. The ideal intern should possess strong initiative, be detail oriented and demonstrate excellent oral/written communication skills.

    As an HR intern, you will work under the supervision of a Talent Development practitioner. You will learn how a skills-based strategy drives talent selection and development in the organization and get hands-on experience using skills data in the Workday HCM system. You will work with the Talent Acquisition team with their social media strategy and employment branding. Working with our new Workday Recruiting tool and initial interview screens. Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering high-quality and timely HR assistance under minimal supervision, helping the HR department meet its objectives.


    Responsibilities:

    • Support the implementation of Workday Skills Cloud
      • Work with business leaders and HR colleagues to update job description
      • Add skills from job descriptions to Skills Cloud
      • Assist with system testing
      • Support the change management process
        • Help with the creation of change management materials, such as awareness campaigns, communications, toolkits, and training
        • Co-host open hours sessions to help employees enter their skills into Skills Cloud

    Requirements:**

    • Enrolled in a university or college program, at least at sophomore level. Human Resources degree preferred but not required
    • GPA of at least 3.0
    • Experience in MS Office. Experience with Excel is a plus
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Good organizational skills
    • Ability to work quickly and accurately, with good attention to detail
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
    • Able to maintain flexible work schedule in a hybrid model, working 3 days per week in Trustmark’s Lake Forest office and 2 days per week offsite.
