    OVERVIEW: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for nearly half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to work within an established PMO in our IT/OPS division. The successful candidate must have managed several software engineering projects using both waterfall and agile methodologies, and played an active role in the SDLC, including Design, Development, Estimating and Change Management. Knowledge and experience in companies with data analytics, business intelligence products, or supply chain would be an advantage. This position requires the ability to manage multiple software development projects. A working knowledge of project scheduling tools is required.

     

     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead teams of multi-disciplined personnel to develop and deliver software systems within guidelines for schedule, cost, quality and productivity, including hands-on work with team members or others in the division to help resolve technical issues
    • Manage scrum team(s) including software development/engineering, testing and deployment activities, to deliver sprint objectives
    • Coordinate backlog prioritization with product manager/product owner to align with strategic division initiatives
    • Support release planning activities, including communications with stakeholders, facilitation of scrum ceremonies and continual deployment processes
    • Apply technical knowledge and analytical skills to proactively identify and solve issues across projects
    • Assume responsibility and accountability for project and product delivery including management of stakeholder exceptions and project issues
    • Apply knowledge of appropriate project management and issue management tools and techniques effectively facilitate project schedule development
    • Collect and distribute project and release information to project stakeholders
    • Ensure quality standards are satisfied
    • Enforce effective change control and change management
    • Participate in customer and product/solution meetings
    • Forecast resource requirements
    • Initiate procurement of necessary products and services
    • WORK FULL-TIME REMOTE FROM A HOME OFFICE

    Required Skills

    • Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of ten years overall related information technology experience with at least three years of experience in development management, project or product management focused on large-scale software systems
    • Experience using an agile/iterative approach for product/project development and implementation efforts
    • Strong background in one or more areas of a project including: software development, QA, business analysis, product support, systems integration, etc.
    • Experience managing medium to complex software product development projects
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver a product to the marketplace
    • Familiar with managing matrixed teams
    • Strong people, communication and presentation skills including the ability to articulate and facilitate technical, business, and analytical discussions across all disciplines
    • Ability to act independently, taking accountability for their and others work, yet communicate closely with management for status and direction setting
    • Ability to 'wear multiple hats” – i.e. perform a diverse set of responsibilities apart from purely being a Project/Program Manager
    • Proficiency using Project Scheduling and Issue Management tools
    • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
    • Organized, detail-oriented problem solver, with good time management and communication skills

      

    OPTIMAL EXPERIENCE: 

    • Management of large scale projects, spanning years with multiple releases
    • Experience with supply chain data (manufacturing, distribution or retailer)
    • Experience with consumer packaged goods data
    • Scrum Master or Release Manager experience
