We are currently seeking ACTUARIAL INTERNS FOR OUR 2021 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM which will run from the middle of May through the end of July of 2021. Our interns try out the day-to-day challenges of real actuarial work and contribute to the financial success of our operating divisions by assisting with pricing decisions, experience analyses, and reporting of financial results. 

The ideal intern should possess strong initiative, be detail oriented and demonstrate excellent oral/written communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Preparing actuarial reports under the direction of an actuary.
• Running programs to collect and summarize data in Excel to assist actuary in various studies.
• Assisting actuary in the analysis of products for which he/she is responsible.
• Participating as a team member in both group and individual projects.
• Assisting in the review and examination of quarterly and annual statements.
• Helping with pricing, experience analysis and forecasting.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of at least one Society of Actuaries exam.
• GPA of at least 3.0
• Must be receiving a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in winter, 2021 or spring/summer 2022 to be considered for the program.
• Experience in MS Office and some programming, a plus
• Excellent mathematic aptitude/skills
• Prior work experience, a plus
• Capable of working quickly and accurately and to recognize and solve problems.
• Enjoys working individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to develop insights into how the projects worked on furthering the goals of the department/divisions, and the significance of each task that is performed

PLEASE NOTE, IN THE EVENT WE ARE WORKING IN THE OFFICE VS. WORKING REMOTELY NEXT SUMMER, HOUSING WILL BE PROVIDED FOR INTERNS WHO LIVE OUTSIDE OF A 15-MILE RADIUS OF OUR LAKE FOREST OFFICE.    FINAL DECISIONS WILL BE DETERMINED BY SENIOR LEADERSHIP SOMETIME NEXT YEAR BASED ON HEALTH AND SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS AT THAT TIME.
