POSITION OVERVIEW: 

We are currently looking for a 2023 Summer IT Intern in our SOFTWARE ENGINEERING team.  As a Trustmark Intern, you will participate in a paid, 10 week summer program from 5/30/23 – 8/4/23 where you will work collaboratively will leaders, staff and other Interns across IT.  We’re planning on a hybrid Internship experience at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, IL where you’ll work three days per week in office and two days remote.  Paid housing will be provided for eligible students. 

In this role, you will have an opportunity to learn from our expert engineers and a chance to work with a team of skilled full stack engineers, assisting in building features for our customer facing digital properties within containerized environments.  You will be part of an Agile development team learning and following our SDLC and exposed to the latest techniques of building and deploying software into a Cloud environment. You will assist in building seamless experiences and solutions using cutting edge and responsive technologies for our customers.  You will build and maintain code and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, document and test new and existing software systems and/or applications
• Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
• Own the development of features in every Sprint, including code and design artifact review
• Participate in the creation and evolution of a DevOps Culture and CI/CD pipelines
• Support the Agile Scrum team with planning, scoping, and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities through continuous delivery to production
• Review and monitor application dashboards and logs to maintain the viability of our systems and services
• Troubleshoot production issues and tickets

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong intellectual curiosity

• Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science or related field with a current GPA 3.0 or higher. 

• Must be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree between December 2023 and Summer 2024.

• Experience with one or more of: Java, Angular, iOS/Android, React Native or Pega.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture

• Familiarity with one of the major cloud providers, preferably Microsoft Azure

• Background in Windows and/or Unix administration

• Ability to use a wide range of open source technologies and cloud services

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Must be able to work full-time (37.5 hour work week) during the duration of the program
