    POSITION OVERVIEW: 

    We are currently looking for a 2023 Summer IT Intern in our ENTERPRISE DATA team.  As a Trustmark Intern, you will participate in a paid, 10 week summer program from 5/30/23 – 8/4/23 where you will work collaboratively will leaders, staff and other Interns across IT.  We’re planning on a hybrid Internship experience at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, IL where you’ll work three days per week in office and two days remote.  Paid housing will be provided for eligible students. 

     

    In this role, you will collaborate with our IT teams to improve and bring visibility to our Data Engineering and Data Governance-compliance processes. You will assist the Enterprise data team with work intake, reporting on utilization trends, as well as participate in quality improvement initiatives. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams across the IT organization including Architecture, Integration and Data Engineering/governance/Compliance team members.  You will support the Enterprise Data team’s initiatives across Data Engineering/Analysis in Azure Data Lake, Synapse, SQL server database in Azure.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create and interpret weekly and monthly reports for work intake requests
    • Pulling and manipulating data from one or more Data sources
    • Performing quality and accuracy assessments of data and data sources
    • Working with other department members to understand individual and team requirements of Data needs, and/or project deliverables
    • Assisting other team members in performing/documenting gap analysis and developing plans, as necessary, to support final analysis outcomes
    • Create and maintain metrics for the various work items
    • Analyze historical utilization of data to predict future trends for Data needs
    • Communicate effectively (both written and verbal) and demonstrating excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong intellectual curiosity in general and specifically in Data Analysis/Data Engineering
    • Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science or related field with a current GPA 3.0 or higher. 
    • Must be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree between December 2023 and Summer 2024.
    • Project management ability to track tasks to completion
    • Must be able to work full-time (37.5 hour work week) during the duration of the program
