    Starmark is seeking a sales consultant with the ability to build consultative relationships with health plan agents and brokers. We have unique solutions for both self-insured and fully insured employers.

     

     

    KEY OBJECTIVES:

     

    As a sales consultant you will build new agent/broker relationships within your assigned territory. You will increase annual premium sales during your first year, by contacting and educating brokers on our products. You will track critical activities (contacts, quotes, etc) and capture market insights that influence pricing strategies.

      

     

     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

      

    • Market Starmark Group Medical plans to independent agents within an assigned territory and produce sales results. Visit agents and/or customers up to 20% of the time or as necessary.
    • Advise Agents on Starmark products, workflow (enrollment options and underwriting processes) and administrative guidelines.
    • Follow up on all Starmark proposals/sales opportunities. Recommend the appropriate combination of Starmark products.

      

     REQUIRED SKILLS:

      

    • Highly motivated, organized and competitive person with excellent communication (verbal, written and listening) skills. 
    • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. 
    • Desire to learn, apply proven sales techniques and build relationships.

     

     

     EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum one year sales experience.
    • Analytical and consultative sales skills.
    • Prior Insurance-related sales. Active Life and Health license (required within 90 days of hire).
    • Prior Experience in Group Medical, Employee Benefits.
    • Phone-based sales experience.
