    Program Coordinator

    Summary: The individual in this full-time position will be instrumental in coordinating Truth Be Told events in the prison system and in the community. In collaboration with the executive director (ED) and program director (PD), the program coordinator will engage with volunteers, donors, program graduates and the community at large to help build organizational capacity and deepen program impact.

    Location: Austin Work environment: Mostly work from home (with potential to return to coworking space) Occasional evenings and weekends to support programs Compensation: $30,000-$40,000, commensurate with experience Benefits: $50 monthly reimbursement for Internet and $1,000 annual credit for approved professional development activitiesTo apply:

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program Coordination

    ● Work with correctional facility staff to keep programs running smoothly and effectively

    ● Work closely with PD on methods to track program data (participation and outcomes) for internal and external reporting

    ● Complete paperwork for each facility, including volunteer clearance and space reservations

    ● Manage the printing and distribution of classroom handouts and supplies, such as journals, name tags, certificates, and mail correspondence curriculum

    ● Manage volunteer logistics and data collection

    ● Assist PD with production of program-developed creative writing publications

    ● Attend program events as a Truth Be Told representative

    ● Serve as a point of contact for graduates who are no longer incarcerated

    ● Organize graduate travel, schedules, and reimbursement for events

    ● Serve as an administrator of the private Facebook group for graduates and regularly engage with our Beyond Bars graduate community

    ● Coordinate facilitation of and occasionally participate in graduate support groups

    ● Setup Zoom logistics and host Zoom virtual programs

    ● Work with PD on event management for graduate and facilitator gatherings, including securing location, food and drink, and training materials

    Operational Coordination

    ● Assist ED in virtual event planning and logistics

    ● Assist ED in coordinating fundraisers and community-building events, to include design of fundraising model and program, site selection, securing in-kind donations, recruiting/managing volunteer help, and day-of support

    ● Engage with Truth Be Told’s social media platforms to raise the visibility of our mission and work, especially during online fundraising campaigns

    ● Attend community events as needed to build relationships that support our mission and work

    Volunteer Management

    ● Manage volunteer data in Salesforce

    ● Manage inquiries regarding volunteer opportunities

    ● Secure space and materials for volunteer trainings

    ● Assist PD in planning training agendas

    ● Assist PD in managing training and program calendars

    ● Track training data and outcomes

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    ● 2 years of experience working in nonprofit programs environment

    ● Commitment to anti-racist work and the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion: Recognize ways that race and other identities intersect in the work. Comfortable directly talking about identities such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, and ability. Understand the historical context for racial inequity and its present-day implications in our work with the criminal justice system. Commit to working toward equity both within the organization and within the communities we serve.

    ● Attention to detail: Able to manage a large amount of detailed information in an organized and intentional way. Find and eliminate errors that others might overlook. Acknowledge mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities.

    ● Proven project management skills, including the ability to multitask and handle multiple projects and timelines at once

    ● Demonstrated experience in event planning

    ● Demonstrated experience working with volunteers

    ● Strong ability to take initiative and independently find solutions

    ● Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication

    ● Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and integrity

    ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

    ● Reliable personal transportation to drive to units in Central Texas, reliable internet access, and mobile phone access (accomodations possible)

    ● Represent Truth Be Told with integrity, tact, responsiveness, and sensitivity

    ● Communicate problems constructively and collaborate on finding solutions

    ● Adapt to and support organizational change

    Preferred

    ● 3-5 years of working in nonprofit programs environment

    ● Specialized coursework or higher education degree in a relevant field

    ● Proficiency in Salesforce, WordPress, Mailchimp, and social media platforms

    ● Knowledge of and experience in trauma-informed/responsive work

    ● Experience in restorative dialogue and/or mediation practices

    ● Experience developing and/or delivering curriculum

    ● Knowledge of best practices in fundraising strategy and donor stewardship

    ● Justice-involved individuals (people previously incarcerated, directly or indirectly impacted by the criminal justice system) strongly encouraged to apply
